Unique book in a concertina style with book spreads of black card and Gautami typeface.
H14cm X W13.5cm X D1.5cm
Inspired Margaret Atwood's poem, my book is an homage to trees. Trees clean the air, slow water runoff, prevent soil erosion and cool our homes. More significantly, trees are wondrous.
They do so much for us, however deforestation and illegal logging continue. The environment is running a poor second to profit.

The story for this book is told from the print's point of view. With the experience of self-isolation to mind it was easy to identify with the reluctance of abandoning a safe place and taking up normal activity again.

'Life in the Splash Zone' was inspired by a visit to the Long Reef Aquatic Reserve accompanied by a volunteer from BirdLife Australia. It was a brilliant day, as only a day in March on the Sydney beaches can be, and we were able to view migratory waders and many of the diverse life forms which inhabit the intertidal zone.

Scurrying sea-life, tread of feet

Light breezes stir mirrored reflections
Cool waters, soothing heat

Concertina format with inserts.
The book was inspired by a foreign language exercise - "The truth is in the text - indicate whether the following sentence is true or false." The idea is explored with the repetition of the phrase "the truth is in the text" translated into various languages. The repeated text alternates with deconstructed foreign language dictionaries.
